Change is hard. If you want to bring about some, you have to do three things – (1) Appeal to the heart; (2) Make (financial) sense, and (3) Make it be easy to do. Of course, it is easier said than done. During this month’s section meeting we’ll discuss some fundamentals, some challenges and some experiences of ‘making change happen’.
Neeraj Arora, Vice President & Global Consumer Business Partner – Science, AIG
Neeraj leads the Consumer-Science team, with projects across the Personal Lines, Life & Health, and Retirement businesses. He is responsible for engaging with and supporting Consumer business leaders in accelerating the use of data and analytics for enhancing the top and bottom line. In partnership with the Consumer teams, Neeraj is working to advance Pricing sophistication, Marketing ROI, UW effectiveness, Process efficiency and Customer centricity, all with an eye to long term sustainability.
Prior to joining AIG in mid-2012, Neeraj served as the Head of Innovation Partners at Farmers Insurance. In a group similar to the Science Team, Neeraj was responsible for generating actionable insight by leveraging advanced data analytics. The team comprised of actuaries, statisticians and business managers, who acted as internal consultants to a variety of business groups within Farmers, including Product Management, Underwriting, Claims, Customer Experience, and Marketing. Prior to Farmers, Neeraj led the Multi-card Business at CapitalOne, with the responsibility to increase NPV for a $2B book of business using marketing, product design and experimentation. His experience spans 13 years of leadership roles in Advertising, Consumer Finance and Personal Insurance, with an equally diversified educational background that includes a Bachelor of Architecture and an MBA from IIM, India.
